Student Profile: Meet Sam Payne

Sam (far left) with the students that first brought him to A/PACC

Sam is a Colorado native and is of European and Native American descent. He is one of A/PACC‘s regulars and has been coming to the office for 3 1/2 years, ever since engineering friends introduced him to the office his sophomore year.

When asked what he likes about A/PACC Sam says he likes the people and the peer mentoring program.

“This [program] is very helpful in getting students off to a great start,” he says.

He suggests students check out Hu Hot Mongolian Grill when looking for something fun to do in Fort Collins, explaining the restaurant offers a unique dining experience since customers get to see their food being cooked.

Here’s some quick facts about Sam:

Year: senior

Major: mechanical engineering, with a biomedical engineering minor

Hobbies: tennis, working out, soccer, Bible study

Fav thing about CSU: the friendly people

Plans after graduation: Sam would like to work at a medical device company for 5 to 10 years and then would like to get involved with mentoring kids.

Suggestion to improve A/PACC: Sam would like to see the office have games (card or board games) were students and staff can bond

…So the next time you see Sam around the A/PACC office say hi!
